THE LAST Hellion (1998) by Loretta Chase

Letto nell'edizione originale americana pubblicata dalla Avon Books (an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers).

In Italia il romanzo è inedito.
A ferocious conflict of wills...
Vere Mallory, the Duke of Ainswood, has everything - he's titled, he's rich, he's devastatingly good-looking - and he seems determined to throw it all away. Disreputable, reckless, and wild, the last of the Mallory hellions is racing headlong to self-destruction... until a mind-numbingly beautiful blone Amazon knocks him off his feet - literally.

An incendiary passion...
Lydia Grenville is dedicated to protecting London's downtrodden. Dissolute noblemen like Ainswood are part of the problem, not the solution. She would like him to get his big, gorgeous carcass out of her way so that she can carry on with her work. The problem is, Ainswood can no more resist a challenge, especially in female form, than he can resist the trouble she seems to attract.

If they can only weather their personal firestorm... they might survive the real danger that threatens all they hold dear.
Warning: spoilers.

It 'hard to read another romance immediately after completion Lord of Scoundrels and not make comparisons. The company is even more complicated if the book in question is actually a spin-off of the latter, born to recount the pomp, with the inevitable parallels in the construction of plot and characters.
My feelings during the 378 pages have been ups and downs. At first I could not get into the spirit of the story: I found a hitch, and forced and hard to understand where he could develop the chemistry between the two protagonists. A sense of lack of fluidity accompanied me while watching the early skirmishes phantasmagoric Aylwin between Vere Mallory, the Duke of Ainswood and Lydia Grenville.
him, nearly thirty-two, is "The Last Hellion" where Hellion stands for troublemakers. Tall, dark, green eyes, beautiful and wild.
you, twenty-eight journalist champion of the most marginalized and exploited creatures of the underworld of London, has been endowed by mother nature a fighting spirit and daring of forms and views. Lydia is tall, blond, has blue eyes and personifies the image of the Valkyrie or the Amazon.
The circumstances that compare these two samples are definitely fun, but do not engage now, in my opinion.
The author puts us more at ease when returns to the surreal and compelling character of Bertie Trent, now in-law of the Marquess of Dain and always looking for an idol to follow. Bertie is the thread from which we take the idea of \u200b\u200ba set of relationships between Lords Dain and his old mate spree at Eton, Lord Ainswood.
My doubts were dispelled on the move, because even when I continued to find excessive and over the top behavior of the Duke of Ainswood and Lydia, I was seduced by the expressive power of their dialogue and wonderful orchestration by Loretta Chase. The evolution of the feelings of the characters is almost tangible.
In this novel, like its predecessor, we find a charming use of dialect, which focuses on the picturesque language Bertram Trent. As in Lord of Scoundrels the central pair sports acumen and linguistic brilliance: in the first case was that Jessica Trent churned out titles for his varied Dain, here is Ainswood that emphasizes the multiple talents of its Lydia through imaginative nicknames. Despite
in both novels the female protagonist has a personality marcatissima, is obviously the main male character who has a plus and it is toward him that has focused my attention. Vere Mallory naturally has a turbulent history and a moving experience behind it, which is used to create the right humus in which it develops its restless nature and disrespectful of the conventions. But they are the impetus and determination to enter into the life of Lydia Grenville that makes it really expensive. She has suffered as a sort of forerunner suffragette, who escapes to the canons of his time and is a bit 'tricky to digest. Not only is a reporter for assault, but appendix writes novels under an assumed name, attended the taverns where they spend the evenings and writers from Grub there sometimes disguised as a man puts on a show, interpreting stories and sipping liquor. Or at least these are some situations in which Vere weird surprises. Even
Lydia has a dramatic past and choose to redeem the suffering experienced defend and accept only some girls and poor girls who are likely to succumb from the clutches of the exploiters. Accompanied by his faithful hound dog named Susan, she risks a premature end, wandering around in bad neighborhoods to save those girls in need. A woman
inexhaustible, strong and sensual as Lydia is able to immediately penetrate the soul of the last, irreverent male Mallory and soon the Duke feels unambiguous dense afflict the human heart.

... And I know, When He lifted His arrogant gaze to her beautiful face, he Began to comprehend, Whether he wanted to or not, what The Thing That Was Kept stabbing at His heart.
"I understand," she said. "I've turned out to be a disappointment to you. You might have set aside your personal dislike if I'd been a woman of experience. But to have to tolerate my odious personality as well as play tutor is asking too much". She looked out the window. "It isn't your responsability, as you said. Merely because you started something unintentionally, you aren't obliged to finish it. Merely because you introduced me to a neglected part of my education, I shouldn't assume you must complete my training. The subject is hardly esoteric. It isn't as though I can't find someone else to continue my lessons".
"Someone else? Who the devil do you - but you're not serious". He essayed a laugh while he recalled how Helena Martin had invited her friend to come out and make "a more agreeable surprise" for Sellowby the scandalmonger.
"There's no accounting for tastes," she said. "Some men enjoy my company".
"That lot of drunken lowlife scribblers in the Blue Owl, you mean," he said. "Well, let me explain something to you about men, Miss Messalina Grenville: It isn't your personality they appreciate. Or your intellect".
"We're entering Frith Street". She turned away from her window. "Not a minute too soon for you, I'm sure. Still, you can bear my thanks, I hope? I was exceedingly glad to have you along this night. I found that man very disturbing. It was comforting to know you'd have no trouble dispatching him. As you demonstrated."
The carriage stopped before her house.
Vere was still staring at her, the "someone else" blaring in his head like a bugle in time to the furious drumbeat of his heart. "There isn't going to be anyone else," he choked out above the inner roar. "You only said that to make me -" Not jealous, it was ridiculous to be jealous of a man he only imagined. "To make me do what you want. The way you manipulated me last night. It's a taunt, that's all ."...
(from Chapter 9 - pag. 172)

Another terrific romance Loretta Chase.

Warning: spoilers.

Read Loretta Chase original is a fascinating experience. His is a language rich and refined, which supports a sparkling writing and a mastery of the medium probably unsurpassed in the genre in question.
Loretta Chase, with this romance, hits all the targets: a good story and fun, two sensational players, a story that goes through the tradition of historical romance, dressed in a modern light and extremely bright. Lord of Scoundrels is a particularly inspired one of those creations that are cited for example, and indicated as a touchstone of the five-star romances. It 's the "perfect romance" , according to many and I first read it, I had my curiosity and expectations.
What is certain is that I loved it from beginning to end.
A pearl in the pearl is the prologue, through which it describes with irony the circumstances of childhood and early youth of Guy de Ath Ballister Leslie Sebastian, Marquess of Dain.
Sebastian's father had lost his first wife and children all because of typhus and had remarried the seventeen year old Lucy Nightingale, a noble Florentine family. Lucy was a beauty with a strong and dark, which was reflected in a sensitive temperament, in stark contrast with the character of the most rigid and austere old husband. When the young woman fled with her lover, the Marquis had bestowed on the little Sebastian all the resentment for the shame she had suffered.
coldness, neglect, pain and despair are terrible feelings against which Sebastian had to struggle for a lifetime. For they are accompanied by unpleasant perceptions about their body, widely regarded as clumsy and almost deformed from that important aquiline nose inherited from his maternal family. At Eton, Sebastian had learned to fight the most ruthless bullying to emerge and recover, and dismissed with ridicule and contempt, becoming a man with a strong and indomitable personality. Intelligent, bright, big and muscular as he was, the future of the fourth Marquess of Dain had begun to arouse awe and respect, and somehow it looks shadowy and vaguely evil had created an aura of semi-legendary Lord Lucifer.
's charisma and mischievous romance from impudent rascal who embodies the spirit of a vulnerable child is rejected and only the explosive mixture that ignites the mind and the senses of the ineffable Jessica Trent.
The Twilight zitellaggine, but only by choice, Miss Trent is lovely, supple and vibrant, in body and mind. Contrary to his brother, Bertram, whom nature has not allowed a large number of gray cells, and that is sending the already poor air Finance Baronet inherited from his father. Jessica must save the young from ruin and is convinced that the only way is to tear that Lord Dain exerts influence on him. Bertram is subjugated by the magnetism of the Marquis, who, on the other hand, if he would stand gladly away.
So Jessica left for Paris (the place of the first part of the novel), determined to bring home his brother, but inevitably collides with the cumbersome and Sebastian for both is the beginning of a new life.
Loretta Chase is magnificent in portraying the mental and physical chemistry that pervades irresistible wave as the two protagonists of the novel.
Jessica strong and unpredictable, does not hide his attraction to Dain when it becomes an undeniable fact and is not ashamed to admire the powerful physique and manly, and with your whole self. Not a fragile girl, but a woman who for the first time in her life test drives for the unexplored and who knows what he wants.
Sebastian no longer has released the tears that a child had torn inside and did not think to prompt amorous feelings in anyone, let alone in a creature so perfect in his eyes as Jessica Trent. His defenses appearance are the same as ever, but putting them into practice with this girl is another matter entirely. Especially if the girl in question unleashes weapons for unexpected move the maze of emotions that Dain has shielded behind his mask mocking. Lord Beelzebub is one of the names by which causes and Jessica Sebastian song. He, who is used to incinerate the onlookers with its presence, is crowded out and, slowly, slowly, gives hope that the heat from dimostratogli Jessica is real and disinterested. As long as she is indispensable.
wonderful and memorable scene that takes place on the highlands of Dartmoor, where Jessica Sebastian forced to confront his past harshness of much more rugged and treacherous rocks of granite lashed by the storm raging about them:
... "And I should not distress you now, if I were not obliged to do something that you might never forgive".
He swallowed nausea and pride in one gulp. "Jess, the only unforgivable thing you can do is leave me," he said. "Se mi lasci mi uccido. If you leave me, I'll kill myself".
"Don't be ridiculous," she said. "I should never leave you. Really, Dain, I cannot think where you get such addled ideas." ...
(dal capitolo 17)
Come in diversi altri momenti della storia, Sebastian is emotionally shaken when it is expressed in Italian, the language of his mother.
few small grammatical imprecision in the use of our language I recognized, but given some absurd translations in which I stumbled upon one of the novels from newsstands, Loretta Chase, which is promoted in Italian, as far as I'm concerned.

Chapeau, Mrs. Chase!

ROMANCE DAY: December 16, 2009

Copying willingly from the blog of Lady Aileen A PASSION AND BEYOND this post dedicated to a ' initiative to disseminate the romances.
I must say that in my small way, the year Last month I got three romance novels to my friend LadyJack, which is the most skeptical antiromance the globe. I have not had any result, as I imagined, I have indeed strengthened its aversion to this kind of reading.
In any case, for me it is better to give the books, rather than abandoning them on a bench with a message, because I would not be sure of the success of the business.

Here, then, what it is:

After V-Day, the Day MTV and the B & B Day came the first edition of

1. Why this date? December 16 is the day when Jane Austen was born, author of Pride and Prejudice.

2. What is the purpose? bring people to this type of novel and demonstrate that the romance genre has the same importance and value of any other literary genre.

3. December 16, 2009 What will happen?
a. On December 16, 2009 Take one of your romance novels and "cast him" in a public place (a square in a bus, in a waiting room, etc.. Etc.)
b. Prior to "abandon" you write in it: I am proud / or reading romance novels, why not try it too? Romance Day, December 16, 2009 and address of the blog / site where to find the regulation.
c. If you do not want to "abandon" Give her a book to a person who usually does not read romance.

What Is That White Stuff?

MY REGENCY WALK, LONDON THIS SUMMER AND GENTLEMAN PIRATE

8 to 14 August 2009 I was on holiday in London.
was not the first time in the past but I never stopped to walk with the eye "regency" , not having yet read Georgette Heyer and not knowing all the historical romance genre, of which this writer was the main inspiration.
So on my recent trip I went back to look at places I had already known, having fun to imagine how they could appear in the first decades of the 800, also taking inspiration from the prints and paintings that can be found wandering for the web.

Here then are some of my pictures from London streets we encounter frequently in the pages of novels regency setting.

HATCHARDS , the oldest bookshop in London, has existed since 1797.
E 'is the only library among all those that I attended, when I noticed a section devoted to erotic romances are published by publishing houses specializing in America. The shelves are a bit 'hidden under an arch between two departments, but the fact that in the famous library and haughty Piccadilly Street there are those publications bold made me smile.

Jermyn Street is the street located in the upscale neighborhood of ST. JAMES'S , in which there are antique shops exclusive gentlemen, the famous Cavendish Hotel, where I stayed in the past, the luxury emporium of gourmet and specialty Fortnum & Mason , with adjoining restaurant and tea room in which the label required to come up with a dress code.

course could not miss the BURLINGTON ARCADE and PICCADILLY to ST. JAMES'S STREET short step and obligations.

The famous gentlemen's clubs, now used for other purposes, such as WHITE'S and the Boodle'S.

After a detour into superextralussuosa OLD BOND STREET, I looked out again in Piccadilly, to peek at the building housing the bachelors of the day: THE ALBANY. built around 1770 by Viscount Melbourne, was transformed in 1802 into a residence with 69 apartments and among its famous residents there were Lord Byron and, more recently, the same Georgette Heyer.

course, being street, I have repeatedly refugee my tired limbs in the superstore of books that looks out from a side on Piccadilly Street and the other on Jermyn Street, or WATERSTONE'S , a place that I highly recommend visiting. How, moreover, other libraries in London, most of which are located in Charing Cross Road. But I'm going off topic.

E 'for end, a regency romance reader, to enter HYDE PARK, pass the Rotten Row and watch the boats on SERPENTINE .
say that it is far less poetic than we imagine. Hordes of pigeons, fed by many tourists and hordes of varied humanity, who basks in the deck chairs on the pedals or it is ridiculous style Coast.
The others, those of the place, rushing on their mountain bikes along the bike path or jog sweating like animals. Be careful to put your feet in the right place or you will be hit by a cyclist for the furious improvident invasion of the track!
Okay, we're not looking at the nit ...
The experience is always wonderful, so go to London and tornateci, if you can! I account to do so, as always.

Dell Gx620 Sound Drivers For Windows 7

("For the love of a pirate" - 2006) by EDITH LAYTON

Bed (purtroppo. ..) in reducing published by Mondadori No Novels 859 - April 2009 - Liliana Schwammenthal Trad.

Warning: spoilers.

The official blog de Novels Mondadori readers leave comments on the covers, very bad, made-up this series from newsstands. Leaving aside, however, to discuss and complain about a problem far more sensational: some horrendous and rambling translations who rape the original work of good writers of romance novels as Edith Layton. died recently, this sophisticated and precise regency author did not deserve that Mondadori gave to the press FOR THE LOVE OF A PIRATE so so sloppy (perhaps the name of the translator illuminates us on his meager opportunity to make a decent Italian translation ...).
The novel is a delicate, ironic, elegant, but will lose the rhythm because dell'incespicare constant between "you" and "you" that appear without a logical thread in the same period, crippled the meaning and 'essence of the relationship between the two protagonists. We can not tolerate these carelessness! It 'an insult to the intelligence of the reader. And this is just an example of what irritated me more and more, while I was trying to proceed with the pages.
The hero of the story is Lord Constantine Wylde passing, against his will, to a regular life and sober and staid gentleman rod, the discovery of being the grandson of a pirate and the son of a street robber died in the first, awkward attempt to make the booty to keep his wife and infant in swaddling clothes. This revelation is made by the captain's traumatic Bigod, an elderly man, but handsome, which has been enriched by trading on the seas and who shows up at the house of Constantine ordered him to live up to the promise made by his father. The parent of reckless Costy (so they call their closest friends) had pledged to marry him, once adult, the daughter of Jeremy Bigod, his companion in adventure and now that Jeremy is dead and buried for years, His father claims the ancient promise in behalf of the girl.
Captain upsets, frightens and intrigues the poor Constantine, which, among other things, has just become engaged to the icy and blameless Miss Winchester and convinces him to visit the places where these incredible events have been held. It 's so that Lord Wylde is catapulted into the wild and picturesque Cornwall, a land of smugglers and a landing time of plundering pirates, where a picturesque people are ready to welcome him as a hero as heir, physically very similar, the great adventurer "Captain Smart, ruthless enemies, but generous with his people. The fact is that, while his great-grandfather was a similar character, his grandfather was a severe man, who had never forgiven the antics of the father of Constantine, and had driven home, the underdog. Constantine did not remember anything and was reared by an uncle pastor that he was unable to express any extrovert side of his personality.
The icing on the cake is the object of contention: the lovely and irrepressible Lisabeth Bigod. The education of the girl was the opposite of that of Constantine: the free and uninhibited, totally free of the ties that govern the conventions of polite society in London.
difficult to resume the command of Constantine himself. In fact, from here on, his feelings and his behavior is erratic and confused. Neither meat nor fish, no longer wrapped, though always charming gentleman of the first, nor the bold pirate had ignited the fantasies of Lisabeth when as a child dreamed of in front of portraits of the great-grandfather and the father of the unaware Constantine. But the spark to occur between the two equally, at least from the physical point of view. Lisabeth includes love this Lord Wylde soon as it is, as he struggles to become aware of himself again and takes a little 'more than you have to decide what he wants to do when you grow. It also makes it a bit 'ridiculous, here and there, maybe a bit' too much. But so are the plots of classic novels regency: sugar, comic situations and gradually towards a happy ending.

are strongly advised to avoid this unhappy Italian translation.

IRRESISTIBLE REBEL ("Tender Rebel" - 1988) by JOHANNA LINDSEY

bed in reducing published by Mondadori No Novels 865 - June 2009 - Trad Maria Luisa Cesa Bianchi.

Warning: spoilers.

pity for the poor job proofreading translated into Italian, which is typeset with errors assemblies and a bit 'ruffled. In some places, at first, it is hard to understand his train of thought.
But the novel is enjoyable and its mainly because, having been written twenty years ago, brings us back to a more rustic style of the genus to which it belongs, in which the libertines are impetuous womanizer with a heart of gold and the mature I lose my mind for young girls very stubborn and often in danger because of the bad guy ready to snatch them.
As I have already had occasion to state for the first episode of the saga Malory, atmospheres "woodiwissiane" hover in the interweaving and tone used by Johanna Lindsey, but it also makes extensive use of irony and sparkling dialogue. The result is a hilarious comedy the whole rhythm and bickering that is read with pleasure.
The male protagonist, Anthony Malory, thirty-five beautiful and fascinating, is a callous libertine without hesitation when it comes to jump into the pleasant diversions with beautiful girls against their will. E 'last child of a noble and wealthy family and loves her grandchildren, but seems determined to marry him.
Roslynn Chadwick is a rich heiress who secretly left Scotland to escape the greedy and cruel cousin Geordie, which aims to marry her and then maybe get rid of her, imposessarsi his money. Roslynn has promised to his grandfather, who died leaving her with no other living relatives, who would soon find a husband to avoid the clutches of Geordie. My grandfather advised her to marry a rake, believing that a man already full of experiences, and redeems himself when he falls in love at last for the first time in life is to always remain faithful to the woman he has chosen. Not Roslynn , agrees with this theory, but fate, circumstances and the seductive insistence of Anthony Malory, in which he runs in London at a reception, led her to marry him right.
Roslynn is Anthony beautiful and feels attracted to her as it had never happened in many years of constant exercise of his amatory skills. The lively and strong character of the girl and prods an irresistible challenge rogue like Anthony, who soon will taste the taste of bittersweet romantic mishaps. Roslynn will test the patience and tactics of our hero, showing that the intuition of her Scottish grandfather had come to the right.
Anthony, even cooked and eaten, is struggling to maintain a certain manly dignity and plays all its cards during the stormy weeks following her marriage to Roslynn. A fun behind the poor newlyweds will be his brother James, a former pirate on vacation, that gives him every time he digs tasty sees him in trouble with the stubborn wife. Here we have a way to deepen our knowledge with key members of the Malory clan, so as to prepare ourselves for the next novels in the series.
Before Anthony on the final ideas and Roslynn pink cloud, laugh with them and we will see them play along to those who give first.
very traditional, but delicious novel to read with a smile.

Shooting Left Side Neck Pain

SECRETS OF A SUMMER NIGHT ("Secrets of a Summer Night" - 2004) by Lisa Kleypas

bed in reducing published by Mondadori No Novels 864 - June 2009 - Pierre Trad Marin.

Warning: spoilers.

With this novel begins the series on Wallflowers: four girls for reasons other than spend the season doing upholstery receptions in London who try in vain to get a husband. By dint of looking to find himself sitting in the eyeballs, the four make friends and forge an alliance to help each other to catch a wealthy nobleman.
Annabelle Peyton, with his twenty-five years, is the "old", so will be the first on which will focus the efforts of the group. Of aristocratic origins, Annabelle lives with his mother Philippa, and his brother Jeremy, less than ten years. Without means of subsistence, it arrabattano between the debts and their only hope of escape from poverty is that Annabelle is systems. Too bad that their ambitions are not limited to searching for a good party, but also covering belonging to higher social class, thus excluding the emerging middle class in this period of renewal and the industrial revolution. Wealthy entrepreneurs, financiers and traders are the future of Victorian England, but for the narrow world in which she grew Annabelle walks of life are a rude and vulgar, to be avoided.
Annabelle's character is described as determined, proud and direct and his appearance is obviously a beautiful girl. Without a dowry, but it is very difficult for her to reach its stated goal, although there is devoted strenuously. The only rich man who has noticed that you are interested and persistently ill reciprocated her is the son of a butcher: Simon Hunt. It 'beautiful and impressive, but his money, earned working and investing in the emerging railroad industry, makes the eyes of an individual Annabelle arrogant and despicable.
In fact, Simon has all the ideal qualities for a safe haven and reliable is a strong man, loyal, intelligent and passionate, by intuition and skill, he built a fortune and gained the esteem of the most aristocratic-looking and modern Wescliff Lord. Simon is accepted and respected in some social circles that would have precluded the bourgeoisie, but now the figure of the noble who lives lounging and enjoying the fruits of the land ownership is in decline and that social change is represented in a fairly realistic and interesting to Lisa Kleypas.
The Wallflowers, dealt with by this series, live on the fringes of the old conventions that have governed the life of the upper class societies: Annabelle is a noble impoverished; two sisters, Lillian and Daisy Bowman wealthy Americans who are viewed with suspicion and condescension from the British aristocracy and thoroughbreds, the shy and stammering Evangeline Jenner comes from a family that has been enriched by the gambling tables and this is very regrettable, as we know .
's funny to see through the eyes of Annabelle as more class-rooted beliefs are difficult to break, despite the needs and feelings dig small holes in his nice suit of armor.
Simon is proud, but with patience and perseverance leads to the small brick because whenever he can. Sure, Wallflower s struggle to realize the dream of Annabelle to marry a lord, and almost succeed. Except that the girl finally has a glimmer of honesty about herself and manages to let down their guard just enough that will allow it to acknowledge its clear preference for the fiery and ironic Simon Hunt.
latter has the physical traits that Kleypas prefers a sort of Rhett Butler without a mustache and acquaintances far more legitimate, but we say that as the idea of \u200b\u200bman comes up to him. Probably every romance writer has his ideal types on which to build passionate and sentimental stories.
's the second novel I read about this author and we always have the final catastrophic event with fire and brimstone where our two lovebirds find themselves more in love than ever. Unlike Scarlett O'Hara, Annabelle makes extensive time to understand that Simon is the man she loves. Like Ross, Annabelle I still dislike to the end, though.

Female Masterbation Only

THE MADNESS OF THE HEART ("The Wild Child" - 1999) by MARY JO PUTNEY

bed reduction in Italian published by Novels Gold Mondadori n. 76 - June 2009 - Trad Rita Botting.

Warning: spoilers.

not think that in this novel the subject of mental illness has been treated with skill and sensitivity that we found in Laura Kinsale and its the Storm. Again, the main character, Lady Meriel Grahame, not mad, though: he suffered an injury at the age of four years and has been locked in his private world where they feel protected. His parents had been killed in India during an attack by bandits and she had been abducted and had escaped by a miracle to a painful end.
finding by two uncles had been brought into the family home in England, where she had been to live a surreal existence bit 'wild, in contact with the nature of the park like a fairy tale creature, not to mention and giving little nods of understanding the "normal" world around her.
Two elderly widows distant cousins \u200b\u200band an Indian are the guardians of loving Meriel, which now has twenty-three and, despite the appearance of evanescent, is a wonderful girl. One of the two uncles wants to confine in a mental hospital, while the other thinks of giving it to save all'errede wife of the Earl of Wrexham, Kyle Maxwell Lord. The latter is painfully accompanying her mature lover English Consancia to die at home and thinks that the only solution to premarital not miss the opportunity of the invitation at the home of Lady Meriel is proposing to his twin brother Dominic to replace him for a few weeks.
For Kyle, who has a broken heart, marriage with a young heiress apparently out of the world is an ideal solution: she is rich and will not claim anything involving him, which will allow him to preserve in the heart ' Consancia love.
between Dominic and his twin brother Kyle Renbourn relations were damaged years ago. Kyle is the eldest and has an attitude that reflects the duties that await him, Dominic has struggled to find their own way, has returned from Waterloo and lives with the poor performance without excess of a younger son, but free. His dream is to cultivate the land and build a family and accepts the request for Kyle uncomfortable because they offered him in exchange for ownership of an estate that Dominic has always wanted. Kyle can pretend to be the only externally, because its more sensitive and open easily puts him in contact with the eccentric, creative and animalistic Meriel. The two means and attract almost immediately. The fact that both are beautiful and does not hurt that she is very passionate and unconventional, but nothing crazy, it helps to channel the story to track very romantic. Eventually, the Meriel will be wiser than those of all his behavior over the top will give a touch of enigmatic, but fascinating.
In fact, the plot falls soon, in my opinion, the banal, with the usual bad guy, greedy and murderess who is vanquished at the last minute.
The characters are not interesting and are treated briefly and superficially. It 'a caricature of an old-fashioned romance, but unfortunately does not have the imagination and is quite boring.
I had to remind me that Mary Jo Putney is not my thing. Now I note.

Brushed Nickel Bathroom Rust

THE tempter ("The Devil You know "- 2003) by Liz Carlyle

bed reduction in Italian, published by Mondadori Novels No 862 - May 2009 - Trad Francesco Saba Sardi.

Warning: spoilers.

And so I also tested a novel Liz Carlyle. Not bad. Definitely different from the last things I read.
No mother hen trying to place his daughter on the marriage market of the London season. No brother, father and honorable attitude. Nothing. In the first scene, the heroine throws herself into the arms of the most notorious womanizing scoundrel there was nearby and begs him to have sex with her in the garden, during a chance meeting at night.
You Frederica D'Avillez, an orphan of the Napoleonic wars, and lives with an unspecified large number of cousins, uncles, guardians, etc.. etc ... and innocent and beautiful. But disappointed that the guy who swore in love is about to marry a cousin for convenience.
him, Bentley Rutledge, is the third child of a deceased dissolute earl, who hated his wife and first two children she had brought up with principles and ladies too healthy for his taste. The Bentley was so small was his pride, the creature in its perverse and perverted mind would have dreamed of seeing him grow as corrupt and debauched. In fact, Bentley, in twenty-seven years old, had given a lot to do with women, games and more and his reputation preceded him wherever incorrigible libertine. For this Frederica, attracted by the desire to prove to herself no one knows what, so meeting him at night while he was hiding in the shadows to carry out a physical necessity, the practically clings on him, asking him to seduce her. Bentley, not being insensitive, trying to reason with her for a while ', but ultimately satisfied and the two arches on the grass and then afterwards, in her room.
The young man is over there as a guest and friend of the cousins \u200b\u200bof Frederica, and no one was aware of his restless movements at night. Crazy action on the part of both, in the costumes.
The Carlyle uses blunt language and soil, and does lead to his characters as very human beings, closer to a daily reality to an artificial romantic comedy. The atmosphere is that of a family secret and complex ramifications, but it is crossed by ties stronger and healthier than those that appear at first sight.
Bentley is tortured by memories and nightmares that do not want to talk. Frederica is discovered pregnant, but does not regret. He convinces her to marry him, and between the two sets in a very physical relationship, but based on love are exchanged so that both still very fragile and afraid.
Ghosts unmentionable of Bentley have undermined the existence and intended to destroy him and his marriage, if not come to light to be defeated. Obviously, this happens all the time and history will be uncovered that is worthy of a treatise morbid psychiatric background. Poor Bentley.
However, all's well that ends well.
The novel grows short, and, fortunately, it's fun, almost yellow at times. Ironic and slightly pathetic, just enough to make it easy cathartic triumph of love.
Ah ... out and continues to do a heat wave!

OVER LA SEDUZIONE ("Beyond seduction" - 2002) by EMMA HOLLY

in bed reduction published by Italian Novels Mondadori No Passion 23 - May 2009 - Marina Pirulli Trad.

Warning: spoilers.
Emma Holly should devote himself to historical romances. The manage quite well. I liked this book more than Beyond the innocence and I do not have any trouble numerous and detailed erotic scenes of which is scattered.
The pace is lively, the story is not reveling in the morbid atmosphere or aesthetically decadent. Indeed, the main characters are humorous and passion that involves them is healthy, curious, alive.
The painter Nicolas Craven, the genius and recklessness, will become the final in a noble knight and love, becoming a bit 'down on the image of the bohemian and sensual refractory to bonds, which had been created over time.
The restless, brave and passionate Merry Vance, daughter of the Duke of Monmouth, proves to be her perfect muse escapes when the marriage plans of his mother and hides in the painter's house, becoming a model and lover. The instinct of the red-haired girl gold makes an explosive mixture of innocence and seductiveness that capture the lazy and carnal Nicolas. The complicity between the two grows until their relationship of mutual discovery and exchange becomes a deep bond and love inevitably blooms.
The Holly manages to make the birth of credible enough feeling in the middle of a history of physicality that contrasts with the Victorian era in which it is set.
All very fun and enjoyable to read, until the plot comes to a perhaps overly saccharine epilogue, in which all the pieces are rearranged in the most pleasant. Every character, every relative of the two protagonists come to terms with the thorny relationship between the painter and Merry. Also because it turns out even a party-fitted to the status of the girl, being himself a marquis which is now ready to resume its role in society to be worthy of her.
Touched by telenovela hurt a bit 'all that had held up well until the last pages, but it is very reassuring, and with this heat, we certainly want to get depressed!

Club Penguin Is There A Rainbow Puffle

IL PROFUMO DELLA NOTTE ("All through the night" - 1997) by CONNIE BROCKWAY

bed reduction in Italian published by Novels Gold Mondadori n. 75 - May 2009. Chiara Vatteroni Trad.
Warning: spoilers.

Another osannatissimo romance Connie Brockway. I must say, than set in Egypt, I have appreciated much more. I am insatiable, I know. I do not like the stories discount or intangible, but I'm not even in solluchero for those who take themselves too seriously. It is not literature, we have largely said.
Connie Brockway writes clearly well above the average of his colleagues. This novel has a pulpy dignity. E 'taut, sensual, dark and tinged with bitter fatalism. BBW the two protagonists. However, in some places, is unpretentious and makes the verse too true to the novels. In the middle ground, where a bit 'of irony would not have spoiled.
's a story of spies, thieves, night flying over the rooftops, carnal temptations and strong passions. It 's a love story, of course, with a final foggy film. It is a romance that mingles in the mass of his fellows, but stands out for its class and strong colors. If you only autocompiacesse a bit 'less ...

NON SONO UNA PRINCIPESSA ("She's no princess" - 2006) by LAURA LEE GUHRKE

bed reduction in Italian, published by Mondadori Novels No 869 - July 2009. Trad Carlo Pedretti.
Warning: spoilers.
probably I was diverted by the fact that I read in the last day of my week's holiday in London and the waiting in between aeoroporto and anxiety that always attacks me on the plane. I did not take this romance on the right side ... I was disappointed. I liked it so much Talamo prohibited and I was very curious to read another story of Laura Lee Guhrke. Unfortunately, as soon as the setting for escaping from the usual standards of the English lose interest. Is it because the names of fictitious imaginary dukes and counts of the channel does not disturb me, but if someone invents a Prince Cesare di Bolgheri me laugh. Is it because the stereotype unbearable Italy's dark and rebellious, of illegitimate birth and character temptress I find indigestible and sickly. If, to complete the work, comes the upright and enigmatic Sir English steel-eyed who works as a diplomat and who was hired by Prince to unlawfully procure a father and husband's instincts domarne Latin , but it's the English that ends in the coils of the fatal charms of the young bride to repair the inevitable and unpredictable, nasty business ... then there is no religion.
All too trivial and grotesque, even for a romance novel to read quickly in summer. The plot is concise because it is water everywhere.
I can not read a principality of Bolgheri essential for the balance of peace in Europe in the 30s of 1800. It 's too naive. Bolgheri, at most, is the place which is set in a famous poem by Carducci. I'm Italian, not born under a cabbage.

Concrobium Boat Reviews

ON THE WAY TO THE WEDDING by JULIA QUINN (2006 - the eighth Bridgerton novel)

bed in the original edition published by the American Avon Books (an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers).
In Italy, the novel was published it Novels Mondadori with the title of "True love exists."

Warning: spoilers.

E 'the final episode of the saga Bridgerton and I would not say that it is weaker than others, but, having to further differentiate, groping a bit' in the maze of ideas of our Julia Quinn. I love this writer, anyway. His Bridgerton
Gregory, seventh of eight children of Edmund and Violet, is an idealist raised in a family that gave him security, comfort, love and good examples. Do not know the struggle, because he has never been necessary. E 'convinced that true love exists, because there has always under the eyes of his parents has been widely reported (he was too young when his father died) and all his brothers and sisters, as we know, happy marriages have crowned with beautiful love stories. Gregory, therefore, knows that for him is something magical in Serbian and is looking forward to meet the woman of his life.
Bridgerton Gregory is a sweet and sunny personality, your puppy will not rebel, but self-aware that his older brother Anthony prods to find their own way and start a family. And, just at a reception held in the Bridgerton Kent, Gregory is struck by the sight of a sinuous neck of a girl and believes that he instantly fell in love.
She is Hermione Watson, a rare beauty, guest of Anthony and Katherine Bridgerton with his best friend: Lucinda Abernathy. The two young aristocrats have yet to debut in London season and both are aimed at high places and marriages of convenience.
Lady Lucinda is practically engaged to Lord Haselby, the son of an earl, but he has never met. Hermione has not yet committed, but secretly exchanging letters with the secretary of his father. Something quite unseemly, given the social inequalities that prevent such a union.
Gregory, who was unaware of this, is out to conquer the ethereal Hermione, but it is completely insensitive to the attempts of the young Bridgerton and all the many other suitors that cover on his way. Lucinda has long been accustomed to this script and its spirit and practical advice on accommodating the door with a mixture of humor and compassionate solidarity also frustrated Gregory, who can not even be noticed by Hermione.
Lucinda is an orphan and lives under the tutelage of a stern and unfeeling uncle. For several years he attended a school for young ladies of good society, where he met Hermione. He has a brother who has inherited his father's title of count, but waiting to get married before taking the reins of the family. Lucy is not an idealist, he does not believe the love Suddenly, the irrationality hates and loves the order. Always try to accommodate and organize and wants everyone to be satisfied and happy. It would be a perfect wife. Between her and Gregory made it establishes a complicity of irony and sympathy with each other. In short, Lucy begins to feel deep feelings for the boy and engaging, but he is still clouded by the beautiful Hermione. Not that Lucinda is insignificant, indeed, but it used to disappear when next to her good looks resplendent in forms such great workplaces.
But when Hermione will enveloped in a new, unexpected love and soon convolerà with Lucinda's brother, Gregory open finally his eyes, realizing that you have got this far a resounding blunder. The concrete cheerful and lively Lucy is much more congenial and, after a passionate kiss, the mind is directed by Gregory decisively in this direction. Soon, in his heart there's just Lucy and I believe that in this book you beat a record: the male protagonist who repeated as many times the phrase "I love you."
But there is an obstacle, because the horribly insensitive and cruel uncle of Lucy demands that she marry Lord Haselby and engaging the most abhorrent means for the marriage to happen. At this juncture Gregory, for the first time in his life, he fights hard for its purpose and not fear or humiliation, or distress. He runs and he struggles with his head down, with one mission in his heart: to marry his beloved Lucy.
The novel had already taken us in the prologue so far, with Gregory launched at breakneck speed through the streets of London to the church when we are celebrating the wedding of Lord Haselby and poor Lucy, who was forced against his will. A scene in style "The Graduate" when Gregory breaks yelling at Lucy not to do so, proclaiming his love and begging her to marry him. Lucy wants with all his heart, but ... Melee left and right fno obvious happy ending.
The two pigeons, which throughout history have deepened mutual understanding only once in the biblical sense, are based largely after finally married and the number of grandchildren of Violet Bridgerton widens dramatically. Definitely a prolific family!
The novel is really light and is based on the sympathy of Bridgerton and style of Julia Quinn.
